Count Day is Next Wednesday: Count Day is the official day when all Michigan public and charter schools tally student attendance to determine enrollment. Mandated by the State School Aid Act, this headcount directly affects our per-pupil funding for the school year.

Thursday: Our 2nd graders are heading out on their exciting field trip! 🚌
Thursday, 6:15 PM: HOPE Parent Meeting! 🤝
Friday: It’s time for the Vike Hike! Quick reminder: Pledge forms are due this Wednesday, but you have until October 16th to hand in any money raised. 🏃♂️💨
Also on Friday: Popcorn Day! 🍿

Hopkins Career Fair committee is looking for additional presenters in the following career paths:
Small Business Marketing/Advertising Accountant/Financial Lawyer Social media Florist Arts Music Dentistry Health careers- 2-year degree fields Education Electrician Air & space Automotive
Hopkins Career Fair is an annual event for our 8th and 11th grade students on the morning of Friday, October 16. The students kick off the morning with a Keynote Speaker, then each grade level has an opportunity to browse the high school gym and learn from a variety of presenters. The gym setup is a casual atmosphere where presenters are provided with a table where they have the opportunity to talk to students one-on-one about their career/job. We encourage presenters to set up a display or interactive activity where students will learn about the career/job. Discussion topics may include academic preparation, work environment, future outlook, and day-to-day routine.

Did you know missing just a few days early in the school year leads to many more absences throughout the year? A student is considered chronically absent if they miss 10% or more of the school year – that’s just 2 days a month. Even excused absences add up and can impact learning. Labor Day Break Reminder: There will be no school tomorrow (Friday, September 4th) or Monday, September 7th for the holiday weekend. We look forward to welcoming everyone back on Tuesday, September 8th!
It’s been an AMAZING first week of school! We realize that it’s been tough to go from no school to a full week to start the year, but your kids have been doing great! We appreciate your partnership in starting good habits early. This past week, our teachers have worked with your children to develop classroom contracts. These are the non-negotiables in their classroom that the students and teachers develop together. Our staff has also worked with your kids on establishing classroom routines and procedures.
Below is our newest edition of our Newsletter/Good News! Next week on Wednesday is our picture day! Teachers will or already have sent home ordering information (QR code on the form). The only time you will be able to order yearbooks this year is in the fall when you order pictures from the QR code.
One other note, if your child is in need of Hand2Hand meals (meals to take home for the weekend/extended breaks) please use the QR code in the newsletter to sign up. This is free.
Have a great weekend and just a reminder, next week is a 4 day school week. There is no school on Friday, 9/4 or Monday, 9/7.
